Win a Keurig! Rates! Koalas!

I love writing reviews. I just gave 5-star reviews to the Chinese restaurant near me (Yen Yen), the Jiffy Lube on Fullerton, and my wife for going a whole year without getting busted by a traffic camera. Y’know what else I love? When peeps write me reviews. If we’ve worked together recently or in the past, and you feel I provided a 5-star experience, I’d love it if you can leave a review on my Google business page. To share my appreciation, your review will count as an entry for a chance to win a Keurig Plus® SMART Single Serve Coffee Maker. The winner will be announced at the end of this month. Thank you again for your partnership & support, I appreciate you all so much.

**Fire Quote of the Day: **“The most powerful weapon on earth is the human soul on fire.” – Ferdinand Foch

**Today in History: It was on this day in 1971 when the United States announced it would give Turkey $35 million for **farmers who agree to stop growing opium poppies. (*I don’t know if the government has changed their stance on this strategy but if not I know a few guys I went to high school with that can really profit from this.)

**Possible Game Show Answer: Koalas’ fingerprints are virtually **indistinguishable from human ones. (*This is why I think a lot of crimes go unsolved, there’s a whole lot of bad koalas out there that fly under the radar of law enforcement).

**Wuss’up This Week: Every day reports about our economy are released into the wild, **and it’s these reports that can sway interest rates in either direction. And with that said there’s nothing being released today, although a couple of Fed Governors will be speaking. Tomorrow we’ve got Jobless Claims, Existing Home Sales, and a few more Fed speakers, and then on Friday the Consumer Sentiment Report (expected: 73.5). if these reports come out good for the economy you’ll see rates tick up, and vice versa if the numbers disappoint.

**Interest Rate Update: What the Fed giveth, the Economy Taketh away. Do you remember the good ol’ days when **the Fed cut rates a half a point in September? Since that time rates are up three-quarters of a point. Reminds me of when my parents gave me a Nintendo PlayStation as a kid and then said I had to share it with my brother. What kind of present is that?? Hopefully more Fed gifts in the near future that will actually stick this time. For now, a conforming 30yr fixed rate (*that’s for any loan at $766k or less) can be found in the high-6s/low-7s, with Jumbo 30yr fixed (*over $766k) around 6.75%, and 6.375% for an ARM. As usual rates will vary based on type of home, equity in the home, your credit score, and if you appreciate stunning architecture.

**Don’t Forget to Remember: Any purchase or refinance loan that closes with me I will waive $450 in lender fees! Grab yourself a cup of instant karma **and pass my info along to any friends, family, coworkers, or people with haircut fails that can use this gift.

Fire Quote of the Day **2: **“If you’re being chased by a police dog, try not to go through a tunnel, then on to a little seesaw, then jump through a hoop of fire. They’re trained for that!” - Milton Jones

**Timeout for Trivia: Congrats to those who last week guessed Jimmy Kimmel! Want to be entered into a drawing to win a Crayon Art Print? (*give me a break, Mortgage Fans, **I’m running out of ideas for prizes.) Simply email me the answer to this week’s Who Am I? question. Good luck: “My movie came out on this day in 2009 and could be retitled The _Unseeing Edge. _Let’s talk about some of my other movies – did you see my 2018 Netflix thriller? Wait, you saw it??? And you’re still alive?? What about my 2013 movie that got me an Academy Award nomination for being a stranded astronaut (no, not the Matt Damon one, that came out in 2015). I make romantic comedies too; do you remember my 2002 movie whose title is something you give at a job you don’t like. My last name sounds a lot like a British and English word that can be used in a variety of negative ways, including as a swear word. My full name? Well, here’s an anagram for you: A lard sunblock.”
