Children Quote of the Day: “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” – Pablo Picasso
Today in History: It was on this date in 2005 when 50 Cent’s song Candy Shop featuring Olivia hit # 1 on the Billboard Top 100. Exactly three years later Bitcoin was launched. Had he been a visionary, maybe he would’ve called himself 50 Bit. And that, Mortgage Fans, is hopefully the worst joke I will tell you all day.
Possible Game Show Answer: You can’t hum while holding your nose. Go ahead, try it… I’ll wait….
Wuss’up This Week: Today there’s a 99.4% chance Fed Chair Jerome Powell will keep interest rates right where they are when the announcement is made at 2pm. The Fed has emphasized they are in no rush to lower rates as long as there is steady economic growth and a steady labor market (*this doesn’t include the 7-11 down the street from my house where the Help Wanted sign has been hanging for three years). I do think the Fed will lower rates a quarter in June, but until then…
Interest Rate Update: Today we find a conforming 30yr fixed rate at 6.375% for a loan of $200k or less. From $251k-$806k in the mid-to-upper 6s, and jumbo 30yr fixed (*over $806k) can be found also in the upper-6s and in the low-6s for an ARM. As usual rates will vary based on type of home, equity in the home, if you’re a first time homebuyer, your credit score, and if you have the gift of gab
Don’t Forget to Remember: Any purchase loan that closes with me I will waive $450 in lender fees! (and much more on refinances). Grab yourself a cup of instant karma and pass my info along to any friends, family, coworkers, or co-slackers that can use this gift!
Children Quote of the Day: “I don’t trust children. They’re here to replace us.” – Moira Rose, Schitt’s Creek.
Timeout for Trivia: Congrats to those who guessed Amy Winehouse last week! Want to be entered into a drawing to win a 90s Movie mug? Simply email me the answer to this weeks’ Who Am I? question. Good luck:“It’s my birthday tomorrow, and sadly with my mind I don’t even know if I’ll know it’s my big day. Here’s what I do know: The term ‘side hustle’ is when you make money doing something outside your regular employment. My first show where I hit it big had the title of the term used before ‘side hustle.’ That show was on TV but really most of my success came from my films – over a hundred of them! Y’know when Christmas rolls around and It’s a Wonderful Life is shown a million times? I predict my movie that took place mostly indoors will take its place. In ’89 I starred with a famous dancer from a movie released in late ’77 (*wait, not technically starred with because it was just my voice being used), and then I starred with him again in ’94 in a movie which could be retitled Orange Juice Fabrication. From 1987-2000 I was married to a very famous actress who was up for Best Actress at this year’s Oscar Awards. She ended up marrying a guy from the 70s even though it was really the 90s.”
