Pillows! Rates! March Madness!

Pillow Quote of the Day: “There is no pillow as soft as a clear conscience.” – John Wooden

Today in History: It was on this date in 1978 when Charlie Chaplin’s body was stolen from his grave in Switzerland but was recovered weeks later. Good times.

Possible Game Show Answer: There’s a species of jellyfish that is biologically immortal. Turritopsis dohrnii can revert to its juvenile form after becoming an adult, allowing it to live forever – unless eaten or killed by external factors.

Pillow Quote of the Day 2: “I’ll never forget my grandmother’s last words before she died: ‘What are you doing with that pillow?’” – Doug Stanhope

Wuss’up This Week: It’s that time of the month, Mortgage Fans! The first week of any given month brings us jobs reports that can sway interest rates in either direction. Today we’ve got ADP Employment, tomorrow Jobless Claims, and on Friday the New Jobs Report for March (last month: 151k) and the Unemployment Rate (last month: 4.1%). If these come out good for the economy we’ll see rates tick up, and vice versa if the numbers disappoint.

Interest Rate Update: Today we find a conforming 30yr fixed loan at 6.45% when its $200k or less. Between $201k-$806k we're looking at 6.625% - 6.99%, and for Jumbo loans (*over $806k) a 30yr fixed is also in the high-6s and for ARMs the low-6s. As usual rates will vary based on if you are a first-time homebuyer, type of home, equity in the home, your credit score, and if you crave fun March Madness facts.

Don’t Forget to Remember: Any purchase that closes with me I will waive $450 in fees (and a lot more on refinances)! Grab yourself a cup of instant karma and pass my info along to any friends, family, coworkers, or people that like life-savings facts that can use this gift.

Congrats to those who guessed Bruce Willis last week! Want to be entered into a drawing to win a Good Vibes Spongebob T-shirt? Simply email me the answer to this weeks’ Who Am I? question. Good luck: “It’s my birthday tomorrow and an anagram for my name is Sad Tomcat. But I’m not sad at all – my first name and last name can be both a last name and a first name, and mentally that puts me in a good place. My fictional first name was the same when I played a love interest of a guy on Six Feet Under and the love interest of a girl on Parks and Recreation. I know what you’re thinking: TV is great but can this guy do any movies? Can I?! Ha – yes, certainly you saw me in 2010’s Piranha 3D, right? Half joking, I still like that movie, but I did star in a 2008 movie with an SNL alum who played a step brother to another guy who many think was an SNL alum but was never a cast member. Hey, do you remember the movie There’s Something About Mary? An actor in that movie and I produced a 2022 critically acclaimed streaming series whose one-word title means termination, dismissal, or layoff.”
